what is the best way to guard against vapor lock and overheating on a hot day?
Usually only happens on older carbureted cars with manual fuel pumps. Insulate the fuel line where it passes by the engine using heat resistant tape or header tape. I had a 69 Charger 440 with a/c that had a special fuel filter with an extra fuel return line to the gas tank to prevent vapor lock…a person could possibly rig up something like that. It’s also best to limit overheating as much as possible or louvre the hood to allow excess heat to escape.
