How do I go about finding a job in Visual Merchandising in New York?

I work as a Visual Merchandiser for Topshop’s flagship store in Oxford Circus. This entails product placement, putting trends together, in-store displays and mannequins. Im interested in moving to New York to do the same. How do i find a job there? Is it best to just e-mail companies or are there agencies that you can go through? And how does a visa work? Do i need to apply for that before i’ve even found a job? What is the job market like there at the moment? Any advice is greatly appreciated.x

Go online and do some research. Check big department stores to see if they’re hiring someone in that field.
